General Questions

What kind of people is CAT EYE recommended for?

Whatever the scene or purpose, such as concerts in large venues such as domes, watching sporting events, or bird watching, the anti-vibration function reduces camera shake and ensures a clear field of vision, allowing you to fully enjoy an irreplaceable viewing and observation experience in a comfortable manner.
It features a large diameter lens and anti-vibration function that allows you to use it at high magnification without worrying about the hassle of camera shake, and it has been well received not only for its high image quality, but also for its lightness and ease of holding.

Is there a good way to store binoculars that I won't be using for a while?

We recommend storing the camera in a moisture-proof camera cabinet or an airtight plastic case with a moisture-proofing agent inside.

When they say waterproof binoculars, how water resistant are they? Can they be submerged in water?

The structure is designed to prevent water from getting inside even if it gets wet from rain or snow. However, it cannot be used underwater.
Waterproof performance: equivalent to 1m depth (10 minutes) Compliant with JIS B7261 (ISO9022-8) and IP rating IPX7 (equivalent to 10 minutes)

What accessories are included with the binoculars?

Comes with a dedicated soft case, strap, eyepiece dust cap, lens cloth, and one AA battery for monitoring operation.

How to use

I wear glasses, can I use binoculars?

This product has a retractable eyecup, but you can use it while wearing glasses by retracting the eyecup.
When using the binoculars without your glasses, align the eyepiece so that you have a clear field of view when looking through the binoculars.

The left and right sides of the binoculars seem to be out of focus, so I can't see clearly. Is it broken?

First of all, since human eyesight often differs between the left and right eyes, be sure to adjust the diopter before using the glasses. If you do not adjust the diopter, there will be a difference in how you see between the left and right eyes, and you will not be able to see properly.
If the problem persists even after adjusting the binoculars' pupil distance and diopter, it is possible that the lenses or prisms have become displaced due to an impact or other cause. The optical axis needs to be adjusted and repaired.

The instruction manual mentions "visual acuity adjustment." What does this mean?

Diopter adjustment refers to the adjustment required to correct for the slight difference in diopter between the left and right human eyes.
The adjustment procedure is as follows:
1. Look through the binoculars with just your left eye and use the center focus ring to focus on something as far away as possible (such as a chimney or a tree outdoors).
②Next, look through the binoculars with just your right eye and adjust the diopter adjustment ring on the right eyepiece so that you can see the same target clearly.
3. Look with both eyes to make sure the target is clearly visible.

Why do things look fine when viewed with one eye, but blurry when viewed with both eyes?

This is probably because the diopter adjustment was not done correctly. The instruction manual explains how to adjust the diopter, so please adjust it again.
If the image still appears blurry, the prism or lens may be misaligned. Please contact our customer service department.

Would a higher or lower magnification be better?

This is a very personal choice and will vary depending on each user's needs and usage.

AdvantagesLow magnification: Larger field of view (FOV), larger exit pupil (more light entering the eye), easier to hold steady.
High magnification: Distant objects are displayed in greater detail and targets appear closer.

DisadvantagesLow magnification: Less detail on distant subjects, objects do not appear closer.
High magnification: Smaller field of view (FOV) and smaller exit pupil (less light entering the eye) can be difficult to hold steady (hand shake is magnified and more noticeable).
This product is equipped with an anti-vibration function, making it possible to enjoy high magnifications that were previously not possible when held in your hand.

What is the Xross program?

There are different types of shaking, such as large panning when chasing a subject such as a bird or a running animal, or ``large shaking'' when rocking on a boat, and ``fine shaking'' when watching a stationary subject.
However, until now, cameras only had one vibration reduction mode, and even if it was possible to switch modes, you had to switch manually.
The Xross program in CAT EYE enables seamless image stabilization during any movement by quickly and automatically switching between anti-shake modes.

During the day, why does it seem like the actual brightness is the same whether you use binoculars with a large exit pupil or a small exit pupil?

The human pupil narrows to about 2mm in bright environments, but in dark environments, it opens up to about 7mm, depending on age. When using binoculars in bright environments, you will not feel it is dark if you use binoculars with a pupil diameter of 2mm or more. This is why, during the day, you will feel that there is not much difference in brightness between binoculars with a large pupil diameter (7mm) and those with a small pupil diameter (2mm).
Conversely, in a dark environment, when you use binoculars with a small exit pupil, the image may appear darker than when you see it with the naked eye.

The instruction manual mentions "eye width adjustment." What does this mean?

Interpupillary distance adjustment is the adjustment of the distance between your eyes. This length differs from person to person, so adjust it by moving the interpupillary distance adjustment prism. When the circles of the field of view reflected by your left and right eyes overlap and form a single circle, it is the right width for your eyes.

Although the object is clearly visible, the vibration is not suppressed even when the vibration suppression ON/OFF switch is turned ON. Is it broken?

Please turn the vibration isolation ON/OFF switch to OFF and replace the battery with a new, unused one. If the vibration isolation is not working even when the switch is ON, please contact us.
